The Roseland Peninsula is an attractive area of quiet beaches, coastal and river scenery and picturesque villages, within easy reach of Truro, Falmouth and St Austell.
The small picturesque fishing village of Portloe consists of a cluster of cottages set in terraces on the hillside above a tiny harbour, which is much favoured by artists and photographers, and although a few new dwellings have been built in recent years, is completely unspoilt. Although it is a small village, Portloe has a pub and a hotel.

Located on the seaward side of the Roseland Peninsula on the edge of Gerrans Bay, and accessed by narrow roads and lanes, Portscatho is the perfect example of an unspoilt Cornish fishing village. Its small harbour is east facing and therefore sheltered from the prevailing westerly winds.
The parish of Veryan is situated on the beautiful Roseland peninsula and extends along the south Cornish coast from Pendower beach in the west to Portholland in the east. Inland it reaches to Reskivers adjoining the parish of Tregony. The main settlements are at Veryan Churchtown, Veryan Green, Portloe and the smaller hamlets of Trewartha, Treviskey, Carne and Camels.

Tregony is a village steeped in history on the River Fal, dating back to pre Norman times was an active port in the 14th Century, and is the gateway to the Roseland Peninsular. The main street is full of old Cornish cottages with bridge, impressive clock tower, unusual shops and interesting Art Gallery where displays of paintings, drawings, sculptures, are on show.
St. Just In Roseland has an exquisite 13th century Church set above the tidal creek of the Percuil River. The beautiful Churchyard, which slopes down steeply from the road, is luxuriantly planted like a sub-tropical garden, with many species rare in England.

Tolverne is a small hamlet situated on the banks of the River Fal near King Harry Passage. The main feature is the picturesque Smugglers Cottage and nearby Trelissick Gardens.

St. Austell is a bustling market town often referred to as the capital of the Cornish Alps. The ethereal white mini-mountains, the spoil heaps of the china-clay industry lend an eerie atmosphere to the landscape.
Charlestown is the familiar TV location for Poldark and The Onedin Line.
The village was built in 1801 for the import of coal and export of China Clay; it remains an unspoilt port and retains its Georgian character.

St Mawes is situated at the southern end of the Roseland Peninsula. An important port in medieval times and now a picturesque harbour with a small fishing fleet, it is protected by the most perfectly preserved of Henry VIII's coastal fortresses.
